What vehicles do you work on?
We can work on almost any minivan. Check out the chart on this page (Vans We Work On) to see what vans we offer conversion on, and if you think yours belongs, send us a message!
Do you do custom build-outs on minivans?
Yes. However, we will need to discuss with you what you are looking for, and then as a team before deciding if it is something we are willing to take on. Custom Build Outs are charged hourly. Check out our page on Custom Conversions (Custom Conversions).
Can you do a build that has space for 3 or 4 passengers? I would like to have 2 seats with seatbelts in the back.
We have a build out that accommodates 3 passengers. This one maintains a seatbelt in the back, and we can put a rooftop tent on top to sleep 3 total.
Do you rent vans out?
We do not rent vans out.
Can you build my van with the kitchen inside instead of out the back?
We cannot. Our design has the kitchen under the hatch, and building with it inside would require a full remodel of the design.
I have my own fridge. Can you build the kitchen so that I can use the fridge I have?
Potentially! Send us a link to the product online, and we will take a look to see if the dimensions will fit the space we have allowed for the fridge.
Can you include a toilet?
We do not build a toilet permanently into the van, but a small portable toilet can be purchased and stored in the cabinet for use when needed. The Nomad Conversion is more accommodating to including a toilet in the build than the Classic is. We could, however, integrate a toilet into a custom build.
LOGISTICS, SCHEDULING, & PROCESS
I live out of state. Can we do business together?
Absolutely! We have had many clients ship their vans to us, and even can ship them back to you. Talk to our friends at Door To Door Transport about costs, scheduling, and more. They have never let us, nor our customers down.
Is there a dealer in your area that I could talk to about getting a van?
Yes! We have worked with Corwin Toyota in Boulder, and suggest speaking with them about getting a van. Schomp Honda is also a reputable dealer that we have worked with.
How long do you need my van for?
It typically takes us about 2-4 weeks to complete a build. Sometimes we need more or less time, depending on demand, but 99% of the time, we have it done no more than 3 weeks after we receive it.
How do I get on the schedule?
Check out our Booking page to see what dates are available. We take a 50% down payment ahead of your project, once we have given you an exact price and both parties have signed the contract. $2,500 of this acts as collateral in case you cancel. If you would like to book your spot on the schedule before signing the contract and getting an exact quote, you can do that by making a $2,500 scheduling deposit. We keep deposit money on a schedule starting 5 months before the start date of your project.
For example: Your project total is $10,000. You make a 50% down payment of $5,000. Your project start date is 5/1. You cancel on 12/30. You get all $5,000 of the deposit money back. If you cancel in January, you get $4,500 back. If you cancel in February, you get $4,000 back. If you cancel in March, you get $3,500 back. If you cancel in April, you get $3,000 back. If you cancel on or after 5/1, the start date, you get $2,500 back, and we keep $2,500.
How can I make a payment?
We accept Zelle transfers, Apple Pay, and checks/cash. We do not accept credit cards at this time.
If I buy the appliances, can I ship them to you before my van gets there?
Yes! You can ship your fridge, battery, solar panel, and stove directly from Amazon to us. Please be sure to put your name on the order, so we know whose it is! Check out the Appliances we typically recommend.
Can I store my personal items at your shop while my van is being built?
Yes, you can, but within reason. We are limited on space here, and if your stuff can’t fit in the passenger seat of your car, we will add a fee for storing more than a suitcase in the shop. The fee will be between $25-$100, depending on the amount of stuff.
What do you do with the seats from my van?
We highly recommend that you have the seats removed before bringing your van to us. In cases where you cannot remove them, we will add a fee of $50/seat for removal. If you would like to keep your seats, we suggest that you have them removed at home, and store them there. If your seats are removed in our shop, we will keep them and take them to the dump, unless you make your own arrangements for getting them back to your home.
